a snail lounging at the side of a road
watched the cars as off they strode
they zoomed so fast
and on by went past
not pausing to visit the snail's abode

bold purple pompoms

for a butterfly's buffet

when a tree lost its beloved branch
it feared it couldn't hold another finch
until a kind mushroom
said it could go bloom
into a spot for birds their energy to quench

after the rainstorm
clouds break, golden sunshine beams
emerald corn stalks glow

the creek slowly meanders along
its ripples humming a quiet song
the grass on its bank
grown lush, says thanks
both smile, confident and strong
each verse is more delightful than the next, Nicole ~ you’ve left me smiling!

P.S. That snail should be glad that it didn’t get crushed by the cars!

After having a heat wave, it was so nice to have it cool down. It was so refreshing out that evening.
